Ocado is releasing a new and unusual sweet addition to your Christmas cheeseboard with a new mint chocolate chip-flavoured Stilton.

One of the best things about Christmas is the cheese board, but we think this new fromage flavour might divide your guests.

Mint chocolate chip cheese actually exists, and it might just be the weirdest flavour ever invented, but we are still willing to give it a go.

The Shirevale White Stilton Mint Choc Chip cheese will be sold by Ocado, just in time for Christmas.

The 500g block will be £5.99, and is already up on the supermarket's website before its release in mid-November.

The flavour comes from a natural process, but it still has little chunks of chocolate inside, which could either impress or disgust your guests.

Ocado said: "This unusual cheese is made with pasteurised cows milk in the village of Cropwell Bishop, Leicestershire, by Shirevale: the only dedicated production site of White Stilton in the world.

"Unlike the typical aromatic blue variety, Shirevale's White Stilton tastes clean and fresh, which makes it great for blending with unusual, exciting flavours.

"The Shirevale White Stilton Mint Choc Chip has a delicious, creamy and sweet dessert flavour."

Despite this delicious description, Twitter doesn't seem to be too impressed with the new flavour, with one user calling it a 'shambles.

While another user added: "Just the thought of it is enough to induce slight nausea!"

A third user pointed out that although she liked cheese and mint chocolate chip, she wasn't convinced the two flavours would pair well together.

Either way the cheese is definitely guaranteed to shake up your Christmas cheeseboard this December.

If you really want to divide your Christmas guests, you could also include a white chocolate and salted caramel cheese as well.

The brand new flavour is one of ASDA's cheapest cheeses at just £1 for the 90g piece, and will be appearing on shelves from the 22nd November.
