McDonald's Just Changed Its Menu For Summer And We Are Living For It

McDonald's has unveiled five new additions to its menu - including the much-anticipated return of its beloved Smarties McFlurry.

Back by "popular demand," according to the fast food chain, the ice cream comes complete with crushed Smarties and chocolate sauce.

Meanwhile the Crunchie and Dairy Milk flavours have been given the boot.

Landing on Wednesday 26th June, the bumper new line-up spans the food giant's breakfast and lunch offerings, too.

Its humble Bacon Roll, £2.79, boasts a new and improved recipe with three rashers of bacon on a sourdough-style bun with your choice of brown sauce or ketchup.

The Chicken Salad, £3.49, should get the thumbs up for health conscious customers. Choose between crispy or grilled chicken, with 265 and 133 calories respectively, with a balsamic dressing. There's even the option to add a dash of bacon if you're feeling naughty.

'The Hot Cajun Chicken One,' £2.99, is the brand's latest tortilla wrap starring crispy chicken breast strips or grilled chicken with a Cajun sauce, Pepper Jack cheese, tomato, jalapeño slices and lettuce.

McDonald's hasn't just gone lighter on lunch options but packaging too. It's removed all single-use plastic from the salad ranges. They'll now be served in 100% sustainable and renewable cardboard containers, saving a whopping 102 metric tons of plastic a year.

Over in the ice cream zone, it's out with the McFlurry's plastic lid which will remove 383 metric tons of plastic annually.
