In a match made in heaven, Krispy Kreme and Thorntons chocolate have teamed up to create an ultra indulgent doughnut for the festive season.

The extravagant creation is filled with a toffee smooth sauce and topped with vanilla fudge cubes, and is sure to satisfy even the sweetest of tooth.

Krispy Kreme debuted the delicious treat on Instagram, along with a whole host of other festive creations for the doughnut enthusiast.

"The taste of Thorntons in every bite, filled with a smooth toffee sauce and hand decorated with Thorntons toffee pieces and vanilla fudge cubes," teased Krispy Kreme under a mouthwatering snap of sugary snacks.

The Thorntons treat will set you back £2.20 a pop from Krispy Kreme stores and supermarket bakery cabinets in the UK only.

They are here for a limited time only until 30th December, so there's plenty of time to try the Thorntons doughnut as well as Krispy Kreme's other festive additions.

"The wait is over, our long awaited Christmas treats are in stores and cabinets NOW! There's Rudolph, Winter Berry, Merry Sparkle and an exciting Thorntons Toffee & Fudge creation too!" announced Krispy Kreme.

The confectionery brand's Rudolph the reindeer doughnut has returned for another year on the trot, and comes complete with a red nose and little chocolate-coated pretzel antlers.

These are dipped in caramel icing and are priced at a cheaper £1.90.

For the same price, you could pick up a Winter Berry doughnut, which has been covered in white icing and decorated with little holly and berries.

And if neither of those tasty flavours float your boat, then why not try the Merry Sparkle, which is dipped in ruby red icing and sprinkled with snow-like sugar.

This final pick of the doughnut bunch is the cheapest of them all with a £1.75 price tag.
