Iceland has launched syn-free oven chips in partnership with Slimming World.

The chunky chips are available for a limited time and judging by the picture on the packaging they are going to be delicious.

The supermarket is a favourite amongst Slimming World followers and already has a huge range of products on offer.

If you're wondering how it's possible to make oven chips healthy the Slimming World version are grilled before being frozen rather than being cooked in oil.

The recipe for the skin on fries is well known by slimmers however the frozen version means you only have to throw them in the oven for 20 minutes and they're done.

Priced at £2.25 for a 1kg bag the frozen and also vegan friendly treat will be available from the 21st January but they will only be on sale for a limited time.

The chips contain 104 calories per 100g and 0.3g of fat, compared to 202 calories and 4.5g of fat per 100g for McCain Homefries oven chips.

We wonder what 85-year-old dieter David Cyril will think of the new treat after becoming an internet sensation thanks to his slimming Instagram.

David started an Instagram account to give him the 'encouragement he needs' to reach his target.

"I have been a member of Slimming World for a good few years but after initially losing 2 stone, I have since crept back up to my start weight," explained David in his first ever Instagram post, where he's sitting in an armchair and holding up a recipe book.

He continued: "My daughters' suggested that I start this account after one of them posted a picture of me on her own Slimming World account which received a lot of likes and positive feedback.

"I think starting this account will give me the encouragement I need to reach my target. Thanks for stopping by!"

Since setting up his account at the end of September 2018, David has racked up over 114,000 followers (at the time of writing), who have all labelled him an 'inspiration'.
