Ever taken a sip of your white wine and thought "this could do with a splash of rum"?

Enter Echo Falls, who have set tongues wagging with the launch of their new summer tipple, a wine-rum 'fusion' drink. Alcohol rule book, who?

Yes the new new product, which features natural flavours of coconut and pineapple, is part of the Echo Falls Fusions range which has also seen the birth of an Echo Falls Rosé Wine and Gin Fusion and Berry Flavoured Vodka.

The tipple is bottled at 9 per cent ABV, and, according to The Drinks Business, is for "women aged over 30 who already know and trust the brand", as well as "more impulsive consumers under 30 who are prepared to pay a premium for new and exciting products".

David White, marketing director of Accolade Wines, who own Echo Falls, said: ''Echo Falls is once again bringing a refreshing and innovative flavour experience to the market, with strong consumer appeal and a new and exciting sales opportunity for the trade ahead of the summer.

"This is a unique product for people who like the idea of wine but prefer a sweeter style and easy drinking experience."

The launch is also set to capitalise on the growing popularity of rum in the UK, which surpassed sales of £1 billion in 2018.

Echo Falls White Wine & Rum Fusion is priced at £6 for a 750ml bottle, and is stocked in Morrisons, B&M and Bestway from June.

The old adage says you should never mix your drinks, but does it count if it's premixed? We think not.
