When a picture of the product was shared on the Facebook group for Store Offers UK, it sparked controversy.

The post said: "The One and Only Marmite Chocolate Easter Egg for just £3. You're going to either love or hate it, but one thing is for sure it's different! And even fans were skeptical about adding the savoury spread to chocolate.

One person commented: "I love marmite, but the chocolate is rank!!!! Try a small bar first!!!!!! X"

Another said: "marmite pasta is okay, but is an Easter egg stepping over the line?"

But Marmite haters were positively disgusted by the idea of adding Marmite to chocolate.

One said: "This is the devils work! Who even thought this would be a good idea?"

While another Facebook user typed: " Wtf. Why mix that sh*te with anything else?"

But there were a few commenters who thought the odd combination sounded tasty.

One said: "I need this in my life!!"

And another fan exclaimed they'd already snagged one: "Got it...can't wait to eat"
