While we love an Aperol Spritz on a summer's evening, it's already pretty perfect in itself.

But did you know that you could make your own Aperol Spritz ice lollies - and why have we not considered this before?

People over on Instagram are going wild for this yummy new way of enjoying our favourite tipple.

After all, what's not to love? Alcohol? Check. A frozen snack on a warm summer's day? Check.

Inspired yet? Take a look at some examples of the adults-only ice lolly below:

We love this Instagrammer's take on the ice lolly inside a cocktail glass! Yes please!

Meanwhile @amillionmiless's version looks like something we need RN:

And @giuliagalvani has made the most of this recipe by teaming the Aperol Spritz with seasonal blood oranges.

Plus, she's also given the snack a tangy twist with the addition of sparkling water.

Instagrammer @tsfri's yummy version looks almost too good to eat (though we'd be very happy to try).

We can't get over how incredible (and moreish) the ice lollies look!

So, how do you make this wonderfully delicious snack?

All you need is a bottle of Aperol, some Prosecco or white wine and a couple of oranges. Simple!

Mix 25ml of Aperol, the juice of two oranges (or 150ml of orange juice) and 125ml of Prosecco or white wine and pour into lolly moulds, before freezing until they're solid (about eight hours).

For extra sweetness, add in a couple of tablespoons of caster sugar dissolved in some water to the recipe, or decorate your lollies with added orange slices.

Once they're frozen, enjoy in your back garden!

It's the perfect hot weather snack!
