Aldi is calling for budding vino connoisseurs to join its special panel of wine testers.

The bargain supermarket chain's 'Aldi Wine Club' initiative lets 30 wannabe wine experts have their say on the retailer's selection of award-winning wines.

A new 30-strong panel of testers will be recruited every three months, receiving three bottles to try over a six-week period.

Don't know your 'finish' from your 'fermentation'? Don't panic; the reviewers will even be given a special selection of tasting notes, on everything from body to aroma, to help guide them through their taste testing.

They're then required to share their feedback on each in a tweet using the dedicated #AldiWineClub hashtag.

Aldi's wine selection may be a steal, costing between £3.69 and £16.99, but they come highly acclaimed. Its Albanta Albarino Rias Baixas (Spain 2018) was recently dubbed 'excellent value' by industry authority Decanter while Toro Loco Spanish Rose received its Bronze Award this year.

To enter, you just have to send an email to [email protected] including your name, your Twitter handle, proof of your age and no more than 150 words explaining why you think you should be selected to be part of the Aldi Wine Club.

Entries for the next batch of burgeoning sommeliers close on 3rd June 2019.

The supermarket recently launched its own home delivery service, as of today, so you can tap in your request and wait for them to wing it to your door.

"The incredible success of our spirits range this year, including a 75 per cent increase in gin sales alone, has proven that our offering is more popular than ever," said Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield.
