Decorating your house can be a daunting task, but one woman has proved that you don't need to spend loads of time or money to get incredible results.
Transforming her plain wooden stairs with an eye-catching rainbow design, Melissa Jade Ewers, 28, revealed the insane results that could be achieved for under £30 - using nothing but a few paint samples.
Speaking to PRETTY 52, the site manager at Go Ape in Southampton revealed what she did to her old wooden stairs to achieve the colourful look.
"I started by picking out all the staples that had originally held carpet on, plus some stubborn carpet around the edges.

"I think there were around 150 staples all together!," she said.
"I then sanded it down, as there was still a lot of the carpet glue on the steps."
After sanding down the steps, it was time for Melissa to add a coat of white paint.

She did this before bed for three nights and then left it to dry, until the dark wood was completely hidden.
"I also pained the section that is now coloured white to make it easier when it came to the colours," she added.
Melissa then headed to B & Q where she picked out the colours that would make up her rainbow stairs.

"I chose around 15 colours but only used 13 in the end, the coloured section required three coats but dried very quickly," she went on.
The pots came in at £1.30 each - plus, Melissa still had loads of paint left behind.
This means that, alongside the £10 white paint, the rainbow stairs cost just £29.50 in total. What a bargain!

If you want to decorate your stairs but don't fancy rainbow colouring, you can also copy these mosaic stairs for a similarly low price tag.
Ipswich local Sandra Young created a tiled design with nothing but some super cheap £10 vinyl stickers and some varnish from B & Q.
Like Melissa, she sanded down her stairs first, and then just stuck the stickers on. It's that easy.
