Woman Invents Eyelash Vending Machines And We Need To Try This

Now this is something we're willing to spend our pocket change on.

We're more used to buying our crisps, chocolate and fizzy drinks from vending machines, but one in Newcastle is catering to an altogether different guilty pleasure: lashes.

Ashleigh Stevenson is the lash entrepreneur who came up with the novel idea when her popular beauty bar, The Lash Loft, found itself so busy over Christmas that it was unable to take on new clients.

This inspired the 27-year-old to stock vending machines full of lashes around her home town's city centre so she could reach more people.

The machines, which come in pretty pastel pink, stock eighteen different sized lashes and shapes.

Dispensers can be found in Eldon Square shopping centre and Metro Centre in the upper red mall next to Debehams, both in the Newcastle city centre, while there are plans to place on in Manchester.

Ashleigh said: "It's been amazing, everyone's loving them.

"In America they have vending machines filled with cupcakes and all sorts - I was inspired and wanted to do something different.

"They would do so well in Liverpool and Manchester as big party cities like Newcastle, and I think they would be popular in London too."

The lashes cost £10.99 per set and the machine accepts contactless cards and Apple Pay as well as cash.

The lash guru's famous clients include Love Island winner and Geordie girl Amber Gill, 21, who visited the Lash Loft for a set before she went into the villa. Other clients include Geordie Shore stars Charlotte Crosby, 29, and Chloe Ferry, 23.

And the local Geordie lasses seem to be loving the addition to their shopping malls, too.

"Ah of course they've gone and put the Lash Loft vending machine opposite work, bye bye wages," wrote one lash lover on Twitter.

"Is there anything more Geordie than an Eyelash vending machine?" wrote another. "This is the best thing ive ever seen: an eyelash vending machine."

Can we please bring this to the rest of the country, and ASAP?
