The Queen Reportedly Wasn't Happy About This Episode Of The Crown

The Queen is reportedly 'upset' and 'angry' with one episode of The Crown, a series that she had been a huge fan of up until now.

It was suggested that the monarch had started watching the show after being given a little nudge from the Earl and Countess of Wessex - the Queen's youngest son and his wife.

Vanessa Kirby, who portrayed Princess Margaret in the first two series of the award-winning Netflix series, also revealed that Princess Eugenie had been overheard saying that her 'granny' loved the first season.

But one episode in particular has apparently not gone down well with Her Majesty.

The Queen is said to be unhappy with episode nine of season two, which focused on a debate between her and her husband, Prince Philip, on where they should send their son, Prince Charles to school.

The Crown showed the young royal struggling to enjoy Gordonstoun, where he was reportedly bullied - a school which his dad supposedly chose, overriding the Queen's decision to send him to Eton.

And in episode nine, Prince Philip, played by Matt Smith, told his son that he was 'bloody weak' as he cried about the bullying.

An insider has said that Her Majesty was unhappy by the way her husband was portrayed as a father.

A senior courtier told the Daily Express: "I can convey that she was upset by the way Prince Philip is depicted as being a father insensitive to his son's wellbeing.

"She was particularly annoyed at a scene in which Philip has no sympathy for a plainly upset Charles while he is flying him home from Scotland.

"That simply did not happen."

Season three of The Crown is in production, and will star Olivia Colman as the Queen and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, so hopefully Her Majesty will be able to forgive and forget before it drops onto Netflix.
