Little Britain Fans Go Wild As Matt Lucas Delivers Iconic Line on GBBO

It's pastry week and "I wants that one"

Ever since Matt Lucas joined The Great British Bake Off earlier this year as a co-host, fans of his iconic character Andy from the sitcom Little Britain have waited to hear him make a reference.

On Tuesday's episode it was pastry week and the remaining eight bakers had to create Cornish pasties for the Signature Challenge. When Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith casted an eye over Lottie Bedlow's Toad-In-The-Hole-Less formation, Matt finally uttered his catchphrase, (yes, that one!)

Despite Paul calling the frog-shaped pasties "a little messy", they clearly caught Matt's eye. When the judges left he asked Lottie to save him one. "I'm serious," he said. "I want that one," after switching into Andy's Northern accent. Lottie and fellow GBBO contestant Hermine giggled.

Matt's character Andy Pipkin was wheelchair-bound and always appeared alongside Lou Todd, played by Britain's Got Talent judge and author David Walliams. Andy became one of the show's top characters due to only uttering a few, short phrases like "Yeah I know", "Want that one" and, of course, "I don't like it". The characters appeared in almost every episode of Little Britain apart from the show's pilot episode.

Fans could not contain their happiness on Twitter, with one user said: "I'm loving Matt Lucas, he's hilarious".

We hope there are more Little Britain references to come later on in this series!
