A new trailer for romantic comedy Last Christmas has just been released and it's safe to say we are more than happy to wave goodbye to summer and welcome in the festive season with very open arms.
The heartwarming new Christmas movie, directed by Paul Feig and written by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings, is due to hit screens on November 15th - just in time to warm you up for a season of mince pies and mulled wine.
Starring none other than Emma Thompson herself (who has become something of a British Christmas icon since her role in Love Actually) and Emilia Clarke - famously known for playing Daenerys in HBO's phenomenon, Game of Thrones - the film boasts a star-studded lineup.

Alongside the two leading roles, Henry Golding from A Simple Favor and Crazy Rich Asians will emerge as the heart-throb/ love interest whilst Fleabag's, Sian Clifford will star as Emilia's sister.
The film centres around George Michael's music (hence, his smash hit song providing the title for the film) and follows the story of Kate (Emilia Clarke) and new friend Tom (played by Henry Golding) who tries to rejuvenate her lost Christmas spirit.
The trailer unveils however, that the young woman was quite seriously ill the previous year, perhaps the reason she has fallen out of love with Christmas.

In a scene with Emma Thompson's character, we see her struggling with alcohol, what we presume to be the ramifications of the trauma she endured the year before.
Aspiring singer Kate's love of George Michael is a running theme throughout the film, meaning it is filled with bundles of his heartwarming festive songs.
The trailer depicts a the development of a sweet love story between Kate and Tom as he tries to bring some Christmas spirit back into her life. Laced with funny one liners, it's clear however, that Kate won't be swayed that easily.
As Kate is working part time as an elf in a Christmas shop, Tom jokes: "Are elves always this cynical?"

The trailer, however, doesn't reveal everything, and hints at a possible twist in the tale which has left many speculating what could possibly be going on.
Many have suggested that Tom could be Kate's angel. With every shot depicting Tom in the same khaki type uniform, it could be that Tom has come to Kate to help her get her life back on track.
Others seem to believe that Tom was her heart donor and has emerged as a sort of 'guardian angel' to check up on her.
As one user hypothesised: "#LastChristmasMovie theory: Henry Golding is an angel, and Emilia Clarke received his heart in a transplant when she was sick. Last Christmas I gave you my heart"
We've got the tissues ready.
