Gogglebox's George Gilbey 'Charged With Attacking His Girlfriend'
Gogglebox's George Gilbey has reportedly been charged by police for attacking his girlfriend, says The Sun.
The publication reports that 34-year-old George "snapped" and "shoved" Gemma Conway, who is the mother of his young daughter.
George, who once starred on Celebrity Big Brother, is thought to have gone on a "wrecking spree" around their home, "trashing" various items, and is now accused of causing £400 worth of damage.
The newspaper claims that George was arrested the next day, and was taken to a nearby police station to be questioned. He was then charged with 'assault by beating' and 'criminal damage to property valued under £5,000'.
It is thought that he has now moved back in with his mum Linda, and step-dad Pete, who he starred with on Gogglebox.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police also confirmed that a man had been charged with assault.
They also said that police were called to the incident at a house in Twickenham on Friday.
He said: "A man has been charged following an assault on Friday, 16th March.
"George Gilbey, 34, of Clacton, was charged with assault by beating and criminal damage on Saturday, 17th March.
The Met Police spokesman added that he would appear in Wimbledon's Magistrate's court later this month.
It is understood that George and Gemma have been together since 2015, welcoming their first daughter together, named Amelie Gilbey, back in June 2016.
George had a brief fling with The Hills and Made In Chelsea star, Stephanie Pratt, while in the Celebrity Big Brother back in 2014.
It is though that his decision to star on the reality show meant that his family was axed from Gogglebox.
The family then returned to the Channel 4 programme back in February 2016.
George nor Channel 4 have not yet commented on his arrest and charges.
