Channel 4 Confirms New 'Celebrity Gogglebox' Is On Its Way

The broadcaster is promising some "very famous faces" to watch and critique trending television from the comfort of their homes.

A new Celebrity Gogglebox is on its way in just two weeks' time, Channel 4 has confirmed.

The beloved TV series is currently off air for summer, but fans will now be treated to a celebrity version of the show later this month.

The broadcaster shared a teaser video of the new seriesa tweet shared on Friday, which read: "So excited to announce a brand new series! Celebrity Gogglebox starts June 14th @ 9pm on @Channel4 #Gogglebox #CelebrityGogglebox #whoisonthesofa #onlytwoweekstowait."

The show's creator, Tania Alexander, added: "Oi! Oi! Gogglers. That's a wrap Thanks so much for watching. For all ur lovely words & for getting us trending at 1 each week.

"See you in 2 weeks Fri 9pm for 6 wks of Celeb #Gogglebox & then we will see you back with the cast in Sept. Big love from me & the gogglegang."

While the 10-second clip didn't give anything away regarding which celebrity guests will be appearing on the sofas to critique telly, Channel 4 did promise "some very famous faces".

Celebrity Gogglebox will run for six weeks starting on Friday, 14th June at 9pm.

The most recent Celebrity Gogglebox, which was in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, starred the likes of Danny Dyer and daughter Dani Dyer, as well as Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Jamie Dornan, Ed Sheeran, Abbey Clancey and Peter Crouch.

Rumours suggest that the likes of Marvin and Rochelle Humes, Jamie and Rebekah Vardy, and Spencer Matthews and Vogue Williams have all been approached for this celebrity special, although nothing has been confirmed by Channel 4 just yet.

Celebrity Gogglebox will air on Channel 4 at 9pm on Friday, 14th June, while Gogglebox will return to screens later this year in September.
