Disneyland guests hit out over eye-watering ticket prices and long ride lines

Disneyland guests hit out over eye-watering ticket prices and long ride lines

They haven't held back

We all know that any family trip can come with a load of hidden extra costs, but it seems a whole bunch of holiday-goers have been particularly shocked by the hefty price-tag attached to Disneyland getaways.

Disneyland guests all over have hit out over the eye-watering ticket prices and long ride lines, and let's just say they've not held back one bit.

One took to Reddit to open up about his outrage calling the ordeal 'atrocious'.

"The rides themselves are just atrocious. Minimum wait times of two hours to go on a ride that lasts three minutes?" they wrote on the social media platform.

"Now on top of paying nearly $300 for one day at the park (Park Hopper pass), you have to also purchase $US20+ passes to get on rides, otherwise you’re going to waste your entire day sitting in a three-hour line."

The Redditer continued: "[But] the one attempt we made to get on a ride without the genie pass, we waited in line for two hours only to have the ride break down.

"Of course, Disneyland doesn’t do rain-checks unless you have a fast pass."

They went on to claim that the final 'nail in the coffin' was that Disneyland 'doesn’t really offer things that other amusement parks don’t offer anymore'.

"Their ride technology and themed areas are on par with places like Universal Studios (which is less than half the cost)," they went on to claim.

The Reddit user added that 'any edge' the parks have on quality is 'completely diminished' by the 'sheer amount of people and lines you have to compete with constantly'.

They added that it was difficult to appreciate and soak in all the work that was put into the amusement park 'when you are just constantly in a sea of people'.

"I just don’t see the money or effort being worth it anymore," they concluded.

"It’s pretty apparent that Disney’s popularity just continues to soar and ticket prices continue to rise. So the park will only continue to become more expensive and more crowded."

And it's clearly not just the people of Reddit who have issues with Disneyland as one other guest took to TikTok last month to share his qualms.

The man, Mario Zelaya, took to TikTok to share his experiences with the pricey holiday and offered a handful of tips for any other parents out there looking to do the same.

In the video, which has since clocked up over 685.5k views, Mario admitted he made a 'huge mistake' by taking his family to the famed themed park.

He said: "I made a huge mistake, I went to Disneyland in Paris. I'm almost embarrassed at how much money I spent.

"Just the tickets alone, that's $1,200. Why the hell would I do that?"

The dad went on to explain to his followers that the cost of each ticket was $120 but, because he and his family upgraded to premier passes at the park, it ended up being an extra $173 per person.

"Here’s the Disney rules," Mario captioned the TikTok.

The first rule was to 'expect crazy long wait times' with the second being: "If you don't want to wait in line, expect a huge bill to upgrade to a Premier Pass."

Last but not least, the final rule outlined: "If you decide to wait in line instead because the Premier pass doesn't cover ALL the rides, expect a huge bill regardless."

The Walt Disney Company (DIS) previously announced it will be making it cheaper for families to visit its iconic Disneyland and Disney World theme parks after offering special discounted ticket pricing for children.
