Sony Unveils Whopping 16K TV That's Bigger Than A Bus

Technology has advanced so much over the last decade but it's fair to say we've probably peaked with the introduction of this whopping 16k TV that's even bigger than the side of a bus.

Sony has really hammered home the whole 'bigger is better' ideology with its baffling and slightly ridiculous ginormous new TV.

The incredible 16k television is actually two stories high, so we're not entirely sure what kind of house it would fit in - but let's face it, if you can afford a 16k TV, you've probably got a pretty big house.

Just to put that in perspective, 1080p HD is considered to be decent when watching your favourite TV shows. Well this television has 64 times more pixels than that one. In fact, it's so big we'd probably feel like we were sat in the Love Island villa.

To get even more specific, it's 19.2 metres (63ft) wide and 5.4 metres (17ft) high. Wowza.

Strategy Analytics' David Mercer told the BBC: "We're moving slowly towards 8K TVs at the end of the decade and who knows how long it will take to get beyond that, so 16K is likely to be limited to the corporate world for the time being.

"But there's no doubt about it. These displays are incredibly impressive in person - even 8K on a big display is almost mesmerising.

"When you get to this resolution it delivers almost a quasi-virtual reality experience as your eyes perceive there to be depth to the content."

Unfortunately, it's not quite available for us humble consumers just yet, but hopefully that'll give us just enough time to save up.

Sony isn't the only technology brand that's decided bigger is better, as Samsung previously introduced its 219-inch TV dubbed The Wall.

Samsung pulled the curtain on the 219-inch TV at the CES technology expo in Las Vegas, where tech companies show off their latest and greatest inventions sure to be a hit with everyone.

Who couldn't love a TV that big? It's probably so big that you wouldn't even need glasses to watch.
