A dog that survived the Camp fire that ripped through California last month has been reunited with his owners after waiting at the site of their former home for weeks for them to return.
Madison's owners were unable to get to him when the Camp Fire spread. And now they've shared the story of their delight to find the dog waiting for them on their return.
The Camp Fire started on 8 November and destroyed more than 150,000 acres of land before it was finally put out on 6 December. Thousands of people were forced to flee their homes and tragically eighty-five people lost their lives in the fire.

Taking to Facebook K9 Paw Print Rescue posted a picture of Madison sat on the scorched ground.
They wrote: "Madison's parents were unable to get home to him when the Camp Fire spread. They hoped and prayed he would be OK.
"When they finally got clearance to go back to the lot where their house once stood Madison was waiting there for them as if he were protecting his former home. Never give up!"

If you're wondering how Madison managed to survive it was all thanks to Shayla Sullivan, a rescue worker who helped looked after animals caught up in the tragic fires.
Shayla commented on K9 Paw Print Rescue's post about how she had been looking out for Madison and his brother Miguel after they were reported missing by their owners.
She managed to find Miguel, and although she spotted Madison a couple of times, she was unable to capture and bring him to safety.

Instead she decided to leave out food and clean water for the dog in the hope that he would be reunited with his owner soon.
Shayla also added: "I'm so happy I'm crying as I write this! He didn't give up through the storms or the fire! A long month it must have been for him!"
The rescue worker also encouraged anyone who was still writing to be reunited with a pet not to give up.

She wrote: "I am sure as more people return the fur babies that survived the fire WILL know their people are back!
"Ignatious did and now Madison! Here's to many more reunions ahead! Keep the hope alive!"
Madison's owner, Andrea Gaylord, told ABC10: "Imagine the loyalty of hanging in in the worst of circumstances and being here waiting. It was so emotional."
