Eamonn Holmes claims Phillip Schofield and younger employee had ‘playtime Thursday’ nights together

Eamonn Holmes claims Phillip Schofield and younger employee had ‘playtime Thursday’ nights together

He's made some big claims about Schofield's private life

Eamonn Holmes has claimed that ITV 'delivered' Phillip Schofield's younger lover to the This Morning studio in cars the broadcaster paid for.

Schofield quit This Morning following the revelation that the 61-year-old had been in a relationship with a much younger male colleague.

The presenter said the relationship with the unnamed member of the This Morning team had been 'unwise but not illegal' and is now seemingly gone for good from ITV after admitting that he lied about the relationship.

Schofield said he met the colleague 'when he was a teenager' and they began a relationship which was 'now over' after they'd begun working on This Morning.

A statement from ITV said they'd investigated the rumours of a relationship between Schofield and his colleague and that the presenter had 'repeatedly' denied it.

Co-presenter Holly Willoughby said she'd also been lied to about the relationship after directly asking Schofield about it.

The broadcaster said there are no plans to get rid of This Morning despite the rumours swirling around that the show is due to be axed.

One of the most vocal figures on the whole situation has been former This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes, who said Willoughby should 'follow Phil out the door' and slammed Schofield as 'delusional'.

Now he's said that Schofield's lover was 'delivered' by ITV to the This Morning studio from the presenter's home, claiming that this happened 'usually on a Friday morning' because 'Thursday was playtime'.

Holmes said he knew Schofield and the This Morning colleague were 'very close' and he thought that 'Phillip's his boyfriend'.

Phillip Schofield is gone from This Morning, and indeed the rest of his projects with ITV.

In an interview on GB News, where Holmes now works, he claimed that ITV used to give the This Morning colleague a lift into the studio from Schofield's home.

He said: "He would arrive much earlier in the morning than I would for the programme, that he was delivered from Phillip’s London home.

"Usually on a Friday morning, because Thursday was playtime when he and Phillip would hit the town and then he obviously stayed overnight.

"There are records to show that he was brought in the next day separately in cars paid for by ITV."

Schofield recently hit out at people he claimed had a 'grudge' against him, saying there was 'no toxicity' behind the scenes and that the people criticising him were 'the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show'.

Tyla have contacted ITV for comment.
