A Rottweiler breeder has hit back after one of the dogs they bred mauled their owner and left her in the hospital.
Nikita Piil was left in a serious condition after being attacked by her two Rottweiler dogs at her home in Perth, Australia on Saturday (16 September).
Piil was described as being in a serious but stable condition in hospital after the dog attack after neighbours heard her screaming and tried to intervene.

One man explained how he couldn't help much as he didn't have a weapon to take on the animals, while another man sprayed one of the dogs with a water hose and managed to get it to stop for a bit before it dragged Nikita away.
Police were ultimately called to her home at around 4:35pm local time, and officers had to shoot a dog to stop it from killing its owner.
A spokesperson for WA Police said that, because of the 'extremely aggressive nature of the dogs' coupled with the 'ongoing risk to human life' shooting the dog was necessary.

One of the dogs was later put down while the other was secured in a garage until council rangers could arrive as Piil was taken to hospital.
The Rottweiler dogs were named Bronx and Harlem, and had featured heavily in her social media posts before they attacked her.
Now, according to News.com.au, the breeder of one of the two Rottweilers has hit back at the accusations that they were breeding an 'aggressive bloodline'.
They said: "We don’t breed dogs for fighting. We don’t breed dogs for security. We mainly breed them for show and to place them in family units.
The dog breeder then went on to speculate that Piil had likely come across her two dogs locked in a fight with each other and attempted to separate them, leading them to turn on her.

"She’s just a small lady and with two large dogs, it’s virtually impossible to separate them when they are that size," the dog breeder continued.
Some told the dog breeder that they were making 'overly aggressive and unpredictable bloodlines', while others said they'd got Rottweilers from the breeder and found them to be 'loyal, gentle' animals.
The discussion on restricting certain breeds of dog is currently taking place in multiple countries around the world.
Some people have suffered greatly because of dangerous dogs and certain breeds of dog have a certain reputation of being more dangerous than others.
