Temperatures Set To Soar To 27C In UK Next Week, Says Met Office

The weather might have taken a grey and miserable turn over the last couple of weeks, but fear not - sunshine will return. Hoorah!

Yup, although we're in for a few more days of patchy rain and thunderstorms, next week the weather will brighten and temperatures will soar up to 27 degrees celsius in some parts of the UK.

According to the Met Office, temperatures are set to reach mid-twenties across the UK next week, with the south east and London seeing highs of 27 degrees celsius.

Although we will have to battle some heavy showers beforehand.

A Met Office spokesperson told Tyla: "There's the risk of heavy and thundery showers developing today, most likely across western parts but anywhere could see these showers popping up and when they do, it's going to pour.

"Some places will miss these thunderstorms over the next few days, but through the weekend we change to more typical weather, with low pressure and wind from the west.

"From Tuesday of next week onwards, temperatures will be in the low to mid-twenties, with London and the south east seeing temperatures of up to 27.

"In the last week of June, temperatures are expected to be above average and possibly very warm in some areas."

Northern areas of the UK will be slightly cooler, with the likes of Manchester and Leeds reaching temperatures of up to 22 degrees, while Newcastle could see 20 degrees and further south, Birmingham will reach highs of 23.

Meanwhile, Bristol could reach 24 and in Scotland, Edinburgh will see highs of around 20.

Despite the very warm weather in some places, the Met Office still warn that there could be risks of showers and thunderstorms in some places.

"There are signs of a more settled, dry spell becoming established for many parts during the early to middle part of next week," they said.

"It will probably become generally warm, perhaps very warm in places, more especially for southeastern areas. The northwest may stay more changeable, whilst there is a risk of thunderstorms in some southern parts."

With the temperatures set to soar even further at the end of the month, we're planning our barbecues and socially distanced park days now!
