A Colombian mother's razor-sharp reflexes helped save her son's life after he fell off a balcony in the city of Medellín.
The heart-stopping moment was captured on CCTV as the mother and toddler arrived at Monserrate construction company's office, which is based in the South American country's Antioquia province.
Walking out of an elevator in the Laureles Colonial building, the footage sees the young boy wandering around the landing whilst his mother is on the phone when disaster almost struck.
Approaching the landing's edge, the inquisitive toddler then slips and falls through the staircase's railings - leaving viewers horrified.
And when you think no good can come from the stomach-churning moment, his mother moves like lightening and catches her son by his leg just in the nick of time before he could fall four flights of stairs.
As the incredible footage comes to a close, officer workers can be seen rushing to the scene to help the mother pull her son up by his leg first and then torso.
While a delivery man runs down the stairs in a bid to stop the child from potentially falling again and to make sure they have a hold on the toddler.
It is not yet known whether the child was injured in the incident but one thing is for sure his mother was there to catch him.
After the footage emerged on Reddit, users were left divided over whether the woman was a heroine or a negligent parent.
One commented: "Considering that there should be either glass or rails... this is a lawsuit waiting to happen."
"It looks like there should have been glass. At first glance the mom would have probably thought glass too..." another weighed in.
A third wrote: "I'm impressed how quickly both the mom and the guy in the helmet reacted.
"The bike messenger thought to go down the stairs nearly by instinct. Glad there was a good outcome."
All we can say is thank God for the mother's speedy reflexes.
