UK Airports Will Be Stopping 100ml Liquid Restrictions In 2022

Passengers flying from UK airports will no longer have to remove liquids and laptops from their carry-on bags under new improvements to airport security systems.

The new technology will be similar to the CT scanners found in hospitals and will provide controllers with a far more detailed image of the contents of a person's bag; meaning pictures will soon be dissected and examined with much more precision.

With Heathrow leading the charge - having invested millions into this technology - it has been estimated to come into action across all other UK airports by December 2022, according to Sky News.

Not only will this bless us with hassle-free weekend escapes (no more late night decanting shampoo into miniature bottles) but it will also be a big step towards more eco friendly travelling.

With passengers no longer having to separate their liquids, airports will save on the huge number of plastic bags wasted because of this process.

Whilst ministers are still advising us to separate our liquids for the time being, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps says the upgrade will improve passengers travel experience massively.

Because of the new changes he says, passengers will no longer have to waste time digging through their bags to remove their laptops or separate their liquids.

We for one are definitely looking forward to a time when rummaging through knickers in front of a security controller is no longer a holiday norm.

All in all, the changes will be a drastic improvement to our travelling experience. With all this hassle eliminated, airport bosses estimate a 50 to 60 times faster passenger clearance through security; the days of long boring security queues may at long last be behind us.

Could this spell the beginning of a new-age mode of travel?

This move can't come soon enough tbh.
