McDonald's customers left fuming after systems outage leaves people unable to order food

Maccies fans won't be happy...

McDonald's customers have been left absolutely fuming after a systems outage left people unable to order food.

The fast food chain has suffered a reported IT system outage in some of its restaurants across the world.

On Friday morning (15 March), customers in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Japan complained about issues trying to buy from the fast food giant on social media.

In Japan, the company apologised to customers on social media and said they may need to 'wait a while' for problems to be resolved.

A McDonald’s Australia spokesman said it was 'aware of a technology outage' currently impacting stores, according to the Daily Mail.

While in the UK, a number of customers said on social media that their local restaurants were closed although they were able to make orders through the company’s app.

McDonalds said in a statement: "We are aware of a technology outage, which impacted our restaurants; the issue is now being resolved."

Maccies fans have since rushed to social media to share their outrage with one One X user hit out: "You have ruined my morning McClowns. I have been eating here daily and I was denied my McMuffin due to your rubbish system being down.

McDonalds have since responded to the issue.

"I thought you had discontinued Roland McDonald's persona years ago."

A second piped up: "Sooooo, for the first time in ages I'm gagging for a nice McMuffin... order online, drive to the McD's and... you've got a country-wide failure?

"How about you lock the app then until it's sorted instead of allowing people to order? Just a thought?"

A third moaned: "With the national system outtage why cant you take orders with pen and paper and take it back to the kitchen? I've not had my McBreakfast today :(."

Tragic times indeed.

A McDonald's spokesperson told Tyla: "We are aware of a technology outage which impacted our restaurants.

"The issue has now been resolved in the UK and Ireland. We thank customers for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. "The issue is not related to a cybersecurity event."
