Coin collectors, assemble. The Royal Mint has just launched a brand new 50p coin with a design from The Snowman etched on the front.
The commemorative coin was first designed last November for fans of the film to collect, to celebrate 40 years since Raymond Briggs' children's novel.

But after such a positive reception it's back again for 2019 with a brand new design.
The coin features The Snowman standing on a white, snowy verge alongside James.
You can get your hands on it in its stunning uncirculated form for £10, spend £65 on a silver proof or splash out £980 on a gold proof.
The coin, which is a design collaboration alongside publisher Penguin Ventures, is not set to enter circulation, so you'll just have to keep it as a memento.
Only the silver proof version will be coloured, while the original and gold designs only carve an outline The Snowman and James on their adventure.

At the moment, the coins aren't worth a huge amount more than their original cost, and Coin Hunter website thinks this will remain the case until production ends, or the higher value coins sell out.
However, they're certainly worth purchasing, as last year's coins are now selling for up to £117 on eBay, and climbing.
Last year, the coin depicted The Snowman flying through the sky above Brighton Pier with James, and cost a cheaper £3.99. Silver proofs of the 2018 edition cost £60 while a gold proof cost £775.

We know there are 25,000 silver proof coins this year and 600 gold ones, while the number of standard uncirculated designs remains unspecified.
