While we tend to think flamingos are generally fabulous, one place you probably don't want to see them is in the path of a giant dangerous plane. But this flamingo nearly held up a flight after wandering in front of the aircraft at an airport in Mallorca.

The surreal moment was captured by an airport worker at Terminal A of Palma de Mallorca Airport, in the eastern Spanish region of the Balearic Islands.

In the video, the pink bird is living its best life slowly sauntering around in front of the aircraft as the easyJet pilot honks the horn.

The bird is totally unbothered by the plane and continues its stroll across the tarmac, eventually walking out of the way of the plane.

The worker can be heard saying: "We have a pink flamingo and it is no joke, walking around Terminal A. An easyJet plane has had to brake! Now it is flying, now it is going away."

The flamingo then enjoys flying over the tarmac alongside the plane before landing again at the end of the clip.

Sources at the airport said the flamingo did not cause an accident and confirmed the Department of Fauna Control had been called.

It's not known if the flamingo was removed from the airport or if it flew away by itself, but we're really hoping it's now safe and far, far away from any planes.

While it appears the plane wasn't held up for too long, this is far from the strangest plane delay there's ever been.

A few years ago, an American Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing because of a passenger who refused to stop singing Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You.

While in 2015, a British Airways flight from London Heathrow was delayed for over 15 hours due to a "smelly poo" that was so bad it posed a health and safety risk.
