Scarlett Moffatt Announced As Royal Wedding Correspondent For BBC
Scarlett Moffatt's TV career is going from strength to strength, as the 27-year-old has just picked up a coveted role for the upcoming royal wedding.
The former Gogglebox star has been recruited by the BBC as one of the official correspondents for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's nuptials this month.
The broadcaster has announced that Scarlett will report into the daytime shows every hour from Windsor Castle.
Posting on Instagram, the Saturday Night Takeaway exclaimed: " So proud to announce I'll be one of the wedding correspondents for the BBC for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's big day.
Fans are just as chuffed as Scarlett, and quickly congratulated the star on her new gig.
"Yay love seeing you on tv always put a smile on my face x enjoy it!" admired one adoring Instagram follower.
While somebody else gushed: "Omg yes! Congrats lovely. You are gonna be amazing at this - can't wait to watch."
"Wow! Big responsibility," pointed out a third.
And a final of her 1.8 million followers exclaimed: "You go girl! Smashing it!"
Kirsty Young, Huw Edwards, Dermot O'Leary, Tina Daheley, Alex Jones, Ore Oduba and Anita Rani will be leading the coverage for BBC One on the big day.
Speaking about her role during the royal wedding, Kirsty Young said: "They're a couple who seem to have captured the goodwill of the world. Yet at the heart of this national event is a very personal, modern day love story.
"It looks set to be a Royal Wedding like no other and I'm very pleased indeed to be part of the BBC One team sharing it with the nation."
And Huw Edwards added: "I'm thrilled to be part of the presenting team for the Royal Wedding celebrations.
"It's always great to get out from behind the news desk, and with this live day of coverage we'll be bringing BBC viewers the latest from Windsor as the excitement builds throughout the day."
