The brother of 'Love Island' star Chris Hughes has been diagnosed with testicular cancer.
Chris confirmed the sad news alongside two childhood photographs of himself and brother Ben on Instagram.
In a candid statement, he wrote: "A sad day. My brother was diagnosed with testicular cancer this lunchtime, in which we pray for a kind prognosis.
"He came into my room at 3am the morning after my testicular examination on TV, clearly struggling to sleep, telling me he'd found a lump and asked me if he's checking it right.

"To which I told him, 'Ben, it's 3am, I'll look in the morning, but if there's a lump, go and check it checked tomorrow with the doctor'. Today he sent me a message telling me the news, and thanking me for making him aware, else he'd never have known he had cancer.
"That literally broke my heart. Testicular cancer is a silent killer, men need realise this and check themselves regularly. It takes 10 seconds. Please do it."
After seeing the post, well-wishers rushed to send their kind words.

"Oh gosh. Heart breaking. Hope you're awareness got it caught early," wrote one.
Another said: "I'm so sorry to hear this. You all need to stay positive. I'll pray for you all."
"So sorry to see this. Wishing your brother and your family all the best. Pray he has a speedy recovery," added a third follower.
The news comes just months after Chris appeared on 'This Morning', where he underwent a live testicle examination.
The 26-year old was praised by viewers as he bravely stripped down for a doctor to examine him and demonstrate how men can do it themselves at home.

It was that moment which prompted Chris' brother, Ben, to check his own testicles for lumps - an action which led to his cancer diagnosis.
Chris, too, has experienced problems with his own testicles, which left doctors fearing he may be infertile.
Because of this, Chris, who has a low sperm count, has previously undergone four operations - including keyhole surgery. This has left him with a large scar around his pubic area.

Explaining why he left it several years before getting his testicles checked out, Chris told 'This Morning': "Because it doesn't come with a lot of pain it's easy to neglect
"Everyone thinks they know their body. There's a right way to check them. I'll be honest with you it's not something you grab hold of in everyday life. You wash yourself but don't necessarily use your fingers to identify."
