Gordon Ramsay Lost Four Stone As He 'Thought His Wife Would Leave Him'
Gordon Ramsay has spoken out about his weight loss after he 'ballooned' to 18 stone.
The 51-year-old told The Times that he feared his wife would leave him as he believed he was 'fat'.
In an interview, the famously foul-mouthed chef explained: "Tana was not impressed with the way I was
"I was overweight, 18 stone. I looked like a sack of sh*t. I look at the pictures and think, 'How did Tana stay around?'
"Because Tana has got better-looking and more gorgeous. And there she is, getting in bed with a fat f*ck."
His wife, 41-year-old Tana, told Gordon that he needed to take better care of himself, or he risked losing her.
He said: "'It was painful. I used to look at myself in the mirror and think, 'Holy sh*t!' So it was a big wake-up call."
At this point, he decided that enough was enough and began to turn his life around. After taking up exercise for fun and getting a former army captain to train him, he now weighs 13st 10lbs. He even takes part in Ironman competitions, which consist of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run.
He also explained that he wanted to make sure that he was around for as long as possible for his children, Megan, 19, twins Holly and Jack, both 18 and Tilly, 16. His own father sadly passed away at the age of 53.
He continued: "That's only a couple of years' time. I've got this reminder to get fit, it's scary.
"I get the fear on a daily basis. I may have not got on with him, but I still miss him. I miss everything I could have had from him if he was still alive in his 70s."
Fair play to him, he looks great.
