Amanda Holden has bravely opened up on the moments she realised her unborn son, Theo, had passed away.

Appearing on Monday's This Morning, Amanda fought back tears as she told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about the tragic unfolding events when she was seven months pregnant during an emotional interview.

The Britain's Got Talent judge said she was watching Mylene Klass, who was also pregnant at the same time, on Loose Women in 2011, when she realised she hadn't felt her baby move in a while.

Amanda tried poking her belly, having a coffee and a bath but she felt no movement and drove herself to hospital.

"I thought, 'Gosh, I've not felt him move for a bit so I got in the bath to see if I could wake him," Amanda recalled.

"I had a coffee but still nothing. I didn't panic, I just drove myself to hospital and the midwife couldn't find a heartbeat and that was the beginning of a horrible day."

Amanda explained that the immediately felt she was to blame, questioning her actions over the past 24 hours.

"Was it something I did? Was it because I had McDonald's fries the day before, which I did?" Amanda said.

The TV presenter went on to add that she forgot at first that she would have to give birth to Theo

"That's the thing I forgot to be honest with you, I thought, 'oh my god, I've got to deliver this baby," she explained, recalling her fears over holding her baby boy. "You don't know what a dead child looks like."

Amanda and her husband Chris went on to spend a night with their little son, who weighed just 3lbs, giving them memories and moments to cherish forever.

A postmortem found no cause for Theo's death other than a tiny dent in one of the arteries in the umbilical cord, which could have cut off his bloody supply.

Amanda is now fundraising to set up Theo's Hope, a charity hopes to provide mums who have suffered a stillbirth with an appropriate counsellor.
