If you're one of those people who watches Home Alone religiously every Christmas (just us?), you'll be excited to hear that the iconic movie franchise is getting a reboot.
After purchasing 20th Century Fox, Walt Disney's CEO Bob Iger has revealed that he plans to bring out new versions of several of their most popular titles, including the Macaulay Culkin classic.
According to Deadline, the popular films are set to be 're-imagined' for the launch of their Disney+ streaming service.
Also being revisited are Night at the Museum, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Cheaper by the Dozen Night at the Museum, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Cheaper by the Dozen.

However, Disney has not yet revealed what form the new-generation films will take, or when we can expect them to hit our screens.
Home Alone was first released in 1990, and tells the story of eight-year-old Kevin McCallister, who is accidentally left at home while his family head on a trip to Paris.
While at first Kevin is excited about being in an empty house, he gets the shock of his life when two con men attempt to rob it right under his nose.
The franchise's service, Disney+, will launch in the US in November this year, and will feature Disney classics as well as the exclusive live-action remakes, Marvel films, Starwars and every single episode of The Simpsons ever made.

It is unclear when the streaming service will come to UK shores but more details are expected to be announced in the next few months - you can sign up here to keep in the loop.
All of Disney's content since 1930 will reportedly be on the platform. Impressively, there will be over 7,500 episodes and 500 films to watch in the first year, and that number will gradually be added to.
The platform will work like other streaming services and you will also be able to download Disney content to watch on-the-go.
