Passenger slammed as ‘selfish’ after disrupting six-hour flight with flashing device

Now, we all know that travelling on planes is far from a walk in the park.

Whether you're stuck next to a screaming child, forced to engage in seat-swapping politics or terrified of the on-board loos - it's clear that we all have a different idea when it comes to proper plane etiquette.

The latest drama sees one passenger being slammed as 'selfish' after disrupting a six-hour flight with a 'horrendous' flashing device.

A short clip from the long-haul flight was posted on the 'Mildly Infuriating' Subreddit a few days back showing a woman using a rainbow light-up phone charger totally lighting up the dark interior of the cabin where passengers were trying to get some much-needed shut-eye.

The Reddit user shared the short video of the woman, who seemed totally oblivious to the faff of it all, along with the caption: "This woman’s charger in my row during a 6+ hour red eye flight."

They followed up: "Who does this?"

People clearly couldn't wait to share their outrage over the faux pas with one Reddit user hitting out: "Some people are literally the inverse to social anxiety and it really shows."

A second questioned: "Why would someone own that? Seriously."

"That’s horrendous," slammed a third. "I’m surprised the flight attendant didn’t say anything."

A fourth chimed in: "My blood is boiling on your behalf."

"That would literally give me a seizure," penned a fifth, while a sixth added: "I have never even considered the possibility of a cable doing that. Thanks, I hate it. And her."

Reddit

"Good god that is the most unnecessary thing I've ever seen in my life," echoed a seventh.

Another claimed: "That's so f**king bad, I get migraines and this would for sure trigger one if I didn't put a sleep mask on."

A final Reddit user resolved: "Just because you can do or use something doesn't mean you should."

Some asked why the person who uploaded the clip didn’t call out the woman, inquiring: "Did you say anything to her?

"Did anyone say anything to her? That’s why she thinks it’s OK to do s**t like this."

The poster later explained exactly how they handled the situation in a follow-up comment that read: "I just wore my hood up and over my head and endured — the upright seat was more annoying to me anyhow."
