Now the festivities are officially over, it's time to inject some excitement into our lives, and what better way than with a trip to New York?

Well, now is the time to do it because Norwegian Airlines has just announced a flash sale which includes flights from London to New York for less than £145 ($182).

Obviously, prices vary hugely depending on when you can travel, with some flights costing an eyewatering £889.90, but if you're able to fly at the end of this month you could get your hands on a pretty impressive bargain.

If you're worrying about how much it'd cost to get back to the UK once you landed in the Big Apple then fear not, because return flights back to London are even cheaper.

For example, if you flew from London Gatwick to JFK on 31st January you'd fork out £144.90 and to return on 4th February would set you back £109.90 ($138).

The sale launched yesterday and it doesn't end there either, with flights to Boston and Chicago for less than £140. Or you could even head to Orlando Florida with the family with flights costing just £149.90 ($188) which is bound hundreds when it comes to catering for the whole family.

Or if you're fancying a luxurious getaway, you could even grab flights to Miami for just £159.90 ($201) which we must admit is pretty damn tempting.

The gamblers among us could also jet off to Las Vegas for as little as £164.90 ($207) and we reckon that's definitely worth the risk.

If you're tempted then it's probably best to be quick because you've got until 10.59am (rather precise) on 14th January, which might seem like a long way away but we're sure they'll be booked fairly quickly.

Now, where did I leave my passport?
