Apple Is Hosting A Free Coding Session For Kids
It's not the first time Apple's opened its doors in the name of education, and its previous UK-based workshops have been a great hit with parents and children alike.
It looks like it's time again for Apple to offer its educational services, and if you're in the UK then you could be in luck.
More and more kids are getting interested in coding, and it's definitely a useful skill to have under your belt, especially if your children are the creative types. This is 2018, after all.
The Apple workshops are mostly targeted at children who are keen to learn a bit of coding expertise, but some of the sessions are also suitable for adults, so you might just learn a thing or two as well.
There will be a few different workshops available, including:
- How To Get Started With Coding - described as Learning Swift programming, using iPads.
- Kids Hour Sphero Maze Challenger - explore the possibilities that coding can provide with the use of Sphere robots.
- How To Program Robots With Swift Playgrounds - your kids can learn how to program MeeBot robots.
The sessions won't be available in all stores, so it's worth asking in your local Apple shop to see if and when you'll be able to attend a workshop.
Places will be on a first-come-first-served basis, so you won't be able to book a place in advance.
The best part of it all is that it's completely free, so there's really nothing to lose.
If you are lucky enough to snag a spot, make sure your children are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the whole of the session.
