Woman Slags Off Boyfriend's Engagement Ring Before He's Even Proposed

The woman took to an engagement ring-shaming Facebook page after she found a ring in her fella's nightstand.

Most girls dream about the day they'll finally witness their significant other get down on one knee and propose, and it goes without saying that we imagine the perfect scenario, the perfect setting and of course, the perfect ring.

But, after our other halves have gone to all the effort to pick out a ring, plan the event and then pop the big question, would it really be fair to say you're not happy with the ring?

Well, that's what one woman has done, except she didn't even let her fella do the proposal before she started bashing his ring choice on social media.

"Ewwww. Self shame Friday here I come," she wrote on a ring shaming Facebook page (yes, that's a real thing).

"Found this in the BF's nightstand. Not a fan. Please roast and then tell me how to tactfully say no you need to get something different."

One appalled member of the Facebook group then took a screenshot and shared it to Reddit, where the mystery woman was of course mercilessly mocked and criticised for her post.

"This is the saddest thing I've seen on this sub," one Reddit user claimed. "It's one thing when it's a total stranger, but when it's someone that's supposed to love you unconditionally acts like a grifter it's just plain sad."

Another blasted: "If the ring is the problem, the ring isn't the only problem. If she really loves him, she'll be over the moon with a ring made of tin foil. The fact she's upset about the ring and not excited that her partner is about to propose is a massive red flag."

Others pointed out that it's pretty bold of the woman to assume the ring is for her, considering he hasn't *actually* got down on one knee and proposed yet, but if he does, let's hope she doesn't tear him to shreds over that lovely, thoughtful ring.

On a side note, we can't believe that engagement ring-shaming Facebook groups even exist. Like the Reddit-user said, we'd be happy with a Harribo ring if it meant getting married to our loved one.
