From a very young age, women are conditioned to believe we'll grow up and meet the love of our lives, marry them, and then live happily ever after.
But, if a new study is anything to go by, women should be focusing less on their relationship with their husbands, and more on those with their gal pals, as more than 50 per cent of married women said they prefer to spend time with their besties than their hubby.

According to the survey by Champneys Health Spa, the 1517 women who were surveyed listed reasons like 'we can talk about everything' and 'she listens more' as the top reasons for preferring their gal pal's company.
A rather shocking 44 per cent of women admitted they can tell their best friend things they couldn't tell their partner, while 41 per cent said they enjoy the same things as their bestie.
In addition, 30 per cent of women would rather have a boozy lunch with their ladies which hardly surprising because is there anything better than sipping on prosecco during the day? We think not. Although, the fellas might not be too happy as they also agreed that they'd have a better time if there were no men there at all.

However, it is worth noting that the survey only questioned heterosexual women who have already married - it could be argued that women who are yet to wed might have a different feeling about their fella.
We're just curious to find out how the results would differ if it were the men who were asked to decide whether they prefer hanging out with the wife or sinking a few pints while watching the footy with the lads.
In fact, perhaps that's where all the fellas are while their wives are enjoying a good old pamper at Champneys Health Spa and enjoying boozy lunches.
