Woman's Post On Heartbreaking Struggles Of Falling Pregnant Goes Viral

"We rarely talk about waiting for the screen to fill up and noticing it skipped right over the first line that should’ve been there"

One woman's honest post on the realities of struggling to conceive has gone viral.

For many woman, falling pregnant isn't always easy - no one really talks about the painful disappointment a negative pregnancy test can bring either.

Social media is often littered with pregnancy announcements, but we rarely hear about the struggles of negatives for someone who desperately wants to have a baby.

Megan Lynne Ferrero's post has racked up over 43,000 likes and replies, with plenty of other women sharing similar stories of heartbreak and frustration.

"We rarely talk about waiting for the screen to fill up and noticing it skipped right over the first line that should've been there and goes right to that solo second "not pregnant" line," she wrote.

"Or about how we check the test 3 minutes later, and then 10 minutes later, and then just for sh*ts and giggles 30 minutes later to see if that magic second line made an appearance.

"If you're like me, you might even check it days later as you pass by the trash bin in your bathroom because maybe somehow it just took a little bit longer for the test to process."

"Or how we take a picture of the test with the flash off. Then with it on. Then upside down in a handstand. Then editing the picture to make it lighter or darker or crisper or blurrier, trying to see if any angle or any edit can make those 2 pink lines visible."

Megan explained that as the months go on, it gets even harder.

She continued: "We rarely talk about how before we take the test, in our minds we count out to see what month the baby would be born in and think about all the cute ways you can announce.

"It starts with picturing that you'll be able to announce with something like "Red, White, and Due" on the 4th of July. Then it turns into possibly making a surprise trip home to tell the family before summer is over.

"Then August and September pass and you decide it's okay because announcing at Halloween is just as exciting. And then Halloween passes and you still haven't gotten a positive."

The stress of trying for a baby can also affect your reproductive system, often making things even harder.

"But you can't help but panic a little when the months keep going by and you don't have a brother or sister in there for your current child and the idea of having them close in age becomes more and more of an unrealistic fantasy," shared Megan.

"We don't talk about how sh*tty we feel about ourselves when we see another pregnancy announcement on our timeline and for a split second, we're jealous.

"How you can be so happy for someone at the same time that you're envious of them?"

The post was met with a huge response from other women who have all struggled while trying to fall pregnant.

One person wrote: "I struggled for 10 years. Every damn time I had a negative test broke my heart into even more pieces. It's hard to always say 'I'm fine' it's hard seeing your friends and family have children and you've got a teddy bear to cuddle! I was lucky that after 10 years of trying had a baby girl."

"I hear you....i have had many, many negatives before my positives," echoed somebody else.

And a final shared: "I have been there many years ago but the pain is still felt."
