What are the chances of this even happening?!

A woman has spotted an amazing set of markings in her pet beagle: a patch that marks out the outline of a dachshund.

Shannon Austin, 31, was spending time in the garden at her home in Yorkshire when she noticed the unusual marking on her nine-week-old dog, named Hazel.

It turns out that adorable Hazel has a marking in the outline of a dachshund - and not only that, but the marking even changes colour where the dog's nose would be, just like on Hazel's face.

The image soon went viral, with people commenting that the dog's markings were like the movie Inception.

"I noticed the day I brought her home that she had unusual markings," says Shannon. "The markings were individual spots when I first met her at 3 weeks old, and now they've merged into a dog-like shape. I think it's amazing and that she's quite unique."

If you've ever been curious to find out what the nation's most popular dog breed is, we've got the answer for you here - and surprise, it's not a French bulldog, golden retriever or a cocker spaniel.

And in sad doggo news, we also wrote about a Staffordshire bull terrier, Aska, who is so shy that she hasn't been adopted for eight months, watching over 150 other dogs go to their forever homes in the meantime.

Plus, if you live by the life philosophy that you can never have too many dogs, don't miss checking out this documentary about a woman who owns 106 dogs. Yep, seriously.
