Everyone Is Outraged That This Popular Household Product Is Dangerous When Used On Children’s Clothes

They say, "Lenor Fabric Conditioner gives you long lasting freshness - a fresh bed every night up to one week" but you should take heed if you're using it on your children's sleepwear, spotted one eagle-eyed consumer.

Be it our rent contract or the ASOS T&Cs, we admit that we're often the first to ignore the small print on pretty much anything.

However one woman who recently purchased a bottle of Lenor's Spring Awakening fabric softener has pointed out why it's so important that we start to sit up and pay attention.

"Never seen this before but all mums need to know DO NOT PUT THIS ON YOUR KIDS SLEEPWEAR!!! Look there's a f**king warning on the back of the bottle!!!!!" she posted to the "Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It", which quickly led to horrified comments from mothers all over the country thanks to its 3.5k shares.

On closer inspection, the back of the bottle states: "Do not use this product: On children's sleepwear or garments labelled as flame resistant as it may reduce flame resistance."

"Thank you for sharing, this is frightening" replied one group member, while another added: "I said ages ago how flammable this is, please stop spraying it everywhere."

"Wow I never knew this!! Scary", added a third.

Explaining why the product is so dangerous on children's clothes, one user commented: "It rids the flame retardant off items after so long, so in a house fire you will have half or even less than half the time to get out of the house before everything that everyone sprays Lenor on is ablaze.

"It's scary I don't know why people are even joking about this."

According to safekids.co.uk, there are around 750 clothing flammability accidents each year of which an average of 80 are fatal.

Children's clothing has been identified as a high-risk area, and it adds that you should always follow washing instructions, including "not washing them at more than 50C and checking the suitability of your washing agent as this may affect the flame resistance of the fabric."

We're glad that this has been brought to our attention - let's spread the news as it could help prevent a disaster.
