Let's be honest, whenever we add a story to Instagram or Snapchat it's so that one specific person will see it and it feels like a waste of energy when it goes unnoticed.

You end up spending the whole 24 hours scrolling through the views list hoping that person has watched it and nothing can explain the heartache when they don't watch it.

But apparently, there is a way to make sure that special person notices you. The Tab have discovered a hack to make sure you're at the front of the stories list.

First you need to post your story

Okay, this may sound like an obvious step but you need to have uploaded a story for this to work.

Just remember that when you post your story it will get lost in the hundreds of other stories on your targets home page.

But if you want it to make an impression you need to make it a good one.

Then you need to hide your story

I know, this sounds like the complete opposite of what you want but you need to stay with me on this one.

If you go to your story settings by either clicking the icon in the top left corner BEFORE the story is published or by clicking the three dots and "more" button on a published story.

From there select "story settings" and you can pick who you want to hide it from - select the people you want.

Unhide the story from them

In the same way as before, go into your story settings and unhide your story from who you want to notice it.

You will then jump to the front of their stories feed- mission accomplished.

Any Instagram user can now also apply to be verified on Instagram after the social media platform rolls out a new launch.

Who doesn't want to achieve a celebrity status and have a blue tick next to your name on Instagram?

Following in the footsteps of Twitter, Instagram is now allowing anyone to apply for verified status, but not all users are guaranteed to be given it.

To request a blue tick, users need to go to their settings and scroll down to 'request verification' to apply.

Instagram then asks for your username, full name and a government-issued photo ID where your name and date of birth is visible.

However, this doesn't mean you will automatically get one.

Instagram states the check will 'indicate that the account is the authentic presence of a notable figure, celebrity, global brand or entity it represents'.
