This iPhone Hack Will Tell You Exactly How Much Time You Spend On Instagram Each Day

You could be spending a large part of your day just scrolling on Instagram.

Whether we're looking for healthy lunch ideas, a new look for a Friday night or a quick fitness tutorial, Instagram has become our go to app for inspiration and advice.

And with the introduction of the stories feature, which allows us to watch the lives of our favourite stars unfold over the course of 24 hours, we'll admit our Instagram habit is just a little bit out of control.

Which is why we admit to being reluctant to test out this hack for iPhone users that is hidden in iOS which tells you just how much you spend each day, or week, on Instagram and other time draining apps.

To access this feature in iOS, open Settings > Battery. In the Battery Usage section, you will see battery usage that was consumed by each app over the last 24 hours a as a percentage.

Tapping on the clock icon on the right-hand side will then allow you to see the specific time - down to the minute - that you spend on the app in the last 24 hours or 7 days.

Facebook is currently rolling out a new feature that will allow users to track and limit their activity on the app, and on Instagram, users can start taking control of their social media activity. This can only be a good thing following recent reports which suggest an increase in social media use can lead to anxiety and a state of negative self comparison.

After testing out the feature, a quick ask around in the PRETTY52 office suggests WhatsApp, Instagram Spotify and Tinder (ahem!) were the biggest culprits for taking up our time.

But we'd love to know what you're most guilty of using too much, tell us in the comments below.
