One of the cardinal rules of wedding etiquette is not to upstage the bride: wearing white is frowned upon, announcing your pregnancy is a major faux-pas, and proposals are an absolute no-go at most weddings.
But one man threw the rule book out the window when he got down on one knee at his sister's nuptials.
Kieran Roberts, 24, asked his partner of two years, Nikki Tabber, to marry him at the wedding of his sister Jessica's wedding to Dan Hughes earlier in April. And a far cry from being angry, his sister actually helped him carry out his romantic surprise...
Footage from the big day shows Jessica, 26, go to throw her bouquet into the crowd but she instead turns and hands it to Nikki. After some confusion from the crowd, Jessica then guides Nikki to Kieran who was stood behind the huddle, who then gets down on one knee.

Jessica, from Birmingham, explains that it was actually her idea for her brother to propose on her big day. She said: "As a family we're really close, so it was lovely how that could be part of the wedding.
"Weddings are meant to be about family. Some people have said it's a bride's day and they would go mad if it happened to them, but I didn't feel like that at all."
Jessica added: "It was so cute and was a great way to end the day as we had two things to celebrate. I felt so proud of Kieran. For him to do it in such a romantic way was a massive deal.

"We're really close and I loved the fact he asked me to help. It was perfect."
Sadly, carer Nikki and forestry worker Kieran suffered a miscarriage in June 2018 when Nikki was 12 weeks pregnant. This was when Kieran told his sister that he wanted to ask Nikki to marry him.
Over the next few months, the brother and sister duo began planning the surprise, with Jessica even trying on rings with Nikki during Christmas shopping to gauge her size. "She didn't have a clue," Jess said.
Nikki, who is expecting a baby boy with Kieran at the end of June, said: "When Jess walked towards me and handed me the flowers I was puzzled and then I thought 'well you give the flowers to the next one getting married' then I saw Kieran and thought 'Oh my God'.

"I felt really emotional. I was trying to say yes but the words weren't coming out. I was so shocked. I was speechless.
"It felt really special to have it on that day. I spoke to Jess about it afterwards and she said it had been planned for ages and she wouldn't have had it any other way."
