A lioness who tried pretty much everything she physically could to get her potential mate's attention pretty much sums up our dating life right now.

The clip, which has gone viral, shows the lioness strutting around the lion with sass before throwing herself to the floor in front of him in a desperate bid to get his attention.

However, nothing seems to be working. The lioness then decides to up the anti a little, and attempts to climb over the lion with her back legs and bum resting on him but again he seems uninterested.

You've got to love a trier.

Defeated, the lioness throws herself back down beside him and accepts he just isn't that into her.

The lion doesn't seem to think that sitting on a potential mate is the smoothest move as once the lioness accepts defeat he relaxes even more and stretches out to lie down.

Maybe she just needs a bit of help from a professional wingwoman.

After an online survey found that 12 per cent of people still meet their partner at a bar or in a club, online marketplace Bark.com has launched a 'wingwoman' service where women can earn up to £30 an hour to accompany clients to social gatherings and introduce them to potential dates.

Pretty much every girl is well rehearsed on the role of being 'wingwoman'. It's something we've all experienced; when your mate fancies the lad at the bar but is too shy to approach him, or when you meet someone at work that would be just perfect for your bestie.
