Woman Creates Incredible 'Harry Potter'-Themed Classroom And It's The Stuff Of Dreams

Woman Creates Incredible 'Harry Potter'-Themed Classroom And It's The Stuff Of Dreams

Getting kids to concentrate on anything for more than five minutes is hard at the best of times, so frankly, all teachers are heroes.

But one American teacher thought of the most incredible way to keep her ninth grade class entertained as she transformed her classroom into a Hogwarts wonderland straight out of the Harry Potter books.

Whereas teacher Staci Lamb's classroom used to have plain white walls and bog standard plastic tables and chairs, the end result literally looked like it had been plucked out of J.K. Rowling's head.

The English teacher, from New Castle, Delaware, covered her classroom with Harry Potter-themed decor - covering every inch of wall in old brick wallpaper, and even decking the room with old wooden furniture to complete the ancient aesthetic.

Harry's suitcase sat outside the room, alongside Hedwig in a cage, and she'd also stuck posters (depicting inspirational world-changers) all around to emulate the talking portraits on the walls of Hogwarts.

Plus, she had a whiteboard to log when she gave students 'house points', and even pinned up a Mirror of Erised (from Room of Requirements, as all Potterheads will know...) which she hoped would encourage students to think about their desires.

And she didn't stop there, as each table featured an old wax candle in true Harry Potter style, and the curtains were replaced with long red drapes.

We're seriously gobsmacked by the before and after shots...

If this wasn't enough to make Staci teacher of the year, she also revealed she spent a month of her own free time before the start of school preparing the classroom.

She usually spent a few hours of her day there, and would spend her own money sourcing secondhand furniture and crafting decor to add to the magic. Someone give this woman a medal.

Speaking to Pretty 52, Staci said that all the time and effort was "totally worth it" when her class saw the end result.

"The reaction has been everything I wanted it to be," she said.

"When the kids walked in on the first day, they had everything from a 'Whoa. Where am I?' to 'This is lit!' expression. It made all the time and investment totally worth it."

She added: "My colleagues support me 10000%. It's been amazing to watch people from our school community share the post and say so many nice words."

Anyone else wish Staci was their teacher, too?

While we can't all be that lucky, Harry Potter teaching seems to be a growing trend.

Available in America and the UK, Exam Papers Plus' new service, School of Magic, is the quirky tutoring offering where teachers arrive at student's homes "dressed in costume".

They're also promised to teach interactively with wizardry themed props, such as wands and capes as well as potions and "magical learning books" - all while teaching a set curriculum.

Or, if you want to take the magic a step further, they also offer are some seriously convincing lookalikes, from Severus Snape - who is on hand to teach chemistry - to number-crunching goblins, who have the maths department covered.

Forget the kids, this is making us want to go back to school!
