We don't need to tell you that dogs are better than humans in a bunch of ways. What they're missing in opposable thumbs they make up for in loyalty and unconditional love.
This is probably why one man did away with a human best man for his wedding, and got his dog to do the duties instead.
Christopher McCarron, 69, called upon his pet Rottweiler, Jack, to be his best man as he married Margaret Allison, 56, on 19th June this year.

Chris rescued the Rottweiler following the death of his son, Chris Jnr, who died aged 43, three years ago.
Following his son's death, Chris sold his business and got a divorce. At the height of his grief, Chris decided to get a dog to help him recover and immediately fell for Jack, who had been living at the Dog's Trust centre in West Calder for nine months.
This is where Chris met Margaret, who was also looking for a dog to adopt. The pair hit it off, and the rest is history. Meeting two loves in one day? Sounds like someone was looking out for you, Chris!

During the ceremony this month, Jack wore a mini tuxedo attached to his collar while Chris held him by the lead.
He might not have been able to offer a pre-wedding pep talk (or, pet talk) in the dressing room, but at least it meant no embarrassing best man speeches or sleeping with the bridesmaid, right?
Chris said: "We had a lovely sentimental day, and Jack played a big part.

"He loved it, he really did. I wouldn't have considered getting a rescue dog because of his age - he's around six.
"But when he went up to me, we just clicked. Little did I know that I'd meet my future wife at the rescue centre too.
"I don't believe that I rescued Jack - I think he rescued me.
"When we decided to get married, Jack had to be there."

Margaret didn't find a dog for herself at the dog home, but now considers Jack one of her own.
She said: "When Chris said 'I do', Jack sneezed, as if to say 'I do too'.
"He was a star - he posed for all the pictures.

"The registrar said it was the first time he'd seen a dog being the best man.
"We did think about Jack carrying a cushion with a ring.
"He had his wee tuxedo on but he went in the garden and got a bit mucky."
Chris has three children as well as his late son, and five grandchildren. Margaret has three children and four grandchildren. Both are divorcees.
After the small ceremony, with 15 guests including staff from the Dog's Trust, the couple went for an evening meal to celebrate.
Chris said: "This is our family now, me Margaret and Jack."
