Woman Who Drunkenly Ended Up In Ibiza After A Christening Is All Of Us

A christening got a little out of hand for one woman whose boozing left her stranded in Ibiza.

Rachael Wynn, 32, from Salford, Manchester, landed on the Spanish island on Sunday and ended up £700 out of pocket as she desperately tried to get back home again.

Rachael was still in her silky jumpsuit from the christening, and had nothing but her passport and her bank card on her possession after jetting off on a complete whim to meet her best friend, who was already out there.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Rachael admitted the decision was a "big mistake," and bluntly reasoned: "I was pissed".

She went on: "I was at a christening and it was also my friend's birthday that day so I went to my friend's afterwards.

"My friends were already here in Ibiza and asked if I wanted to come. I've come out here with the clothes on my back, my bank card and my passport."

Rachael now claims the flight from Manchester to Ibiza is a "distant memory".

"I can't remember it," she said. "I was still loving life at the airport. It's the stupidest thing I have ever done. I'm not like this usually. I've never done anything like this.

"I was p***ed. I was absolutely p***ed. I had been drinking all day at this christening. When I got on the plane I thought 'what have I done?'"

The impulsive decision sounded like a good idea at the time, but Rachael was also forced to explain her absence to her boss on Monday (19th), and only landed back on English soil today (Wednesday 21st) after a failed attempt to book new flights.

Rachael, who works for a housing company, added: "My boss was not happy at all but he's alright now I think.

"He's a great boss and it's a great company to work for. He will be disappointed but hopefully he'll see the funny side.

"The only reason I went is because I thought I'd be able to get home in time for work. I feel really bad about it."

Things went from bad to worse for Rachael, who got locked out of her friend's hotel room on Monday night, and was then forced to roam the streets looking for assistance.

Luckily, she found some fellow Mancunian girls who let her use their shower and gave her some clean underwear.

Her friend Kristina Wilkinson told the publication: "Everyone is calling her crazy and I've personally never known anything like it. It's so funny."

Reflecting on when she dropped Rachael at the christening, she recalled: "She said she 'I've got work in the morning and when it escalates I'm going home'. She usually does.

"I was at work the next day and sent her a message asking 'did you get to work okay?' and she replied and said 'mate I'm in Ibiza'.

"I couldn't believe it so she sent me a little video with palm trees. She was laughing but she said 'my boss is going mad and if I'm not in work tomorrow I'm getting sacked'.

"They all went to Ocean Beach last night and she couldn't go.

"I was worried about her because she was upset about work and she couldn't get a flight. She takes her job really seriously."

Ladies, next time you think about doing something on a whim, think of Rachael.

At least she has a good story to tell the grandkids...
