From the drinks to the outfits, the travel and the presents, anyone that's been invited to a hen party knows its hardly the cheapest thing you'll do all year.
Now, new research has found that the average hen or stag do party will spend just shy of a grand on the day.
Yes, research by social money app Pingit found Brits the average pre-wedding kitty, where shared expenses such as drinks and taxis are paid from, is worth a whopping £928.

And while kittys are often a good way to keep things simple on your mates' pre-wedding day or night out, with all of the money in one place, the risk of it being lost is even greater.
And it turns out the fear is real: the research also found that a whopping £206 million cash was lost by stag and hen revellers last year, with the main reason being fancy dress costumes.

Lack of practicalities in saches, veils, morph suits, and character costumes including no pockets is the main reason for the kitty going missing.
A massive 33 per cent of us have admitted to losing group funds on a night out, with a further 35 per cent admitting they'd had it stolen.
With women contributing an average of £68, and men £104, to the kitty that equates to a LOT of cash.
We dread to imagine the kind of fit creator of this itemised hen do invoice would throw if her kitty has been lost.

Shared on Reddit by one of the attendees, the invoice listed everything that the guests owed including 18p for Sprite.
The anonymous party-goer shared a screenshot of a message from the bride who we know as Sarah, with the subject line, 'bacheloretteexpenses.'
"So I received an invoice from the bachelorette party," she wrote on Reddit.

On the screenshot, Sarah had listed the total cost of everything including food, gifts, and décor - then divided it by seven people, which presumably is how many people attended the do.
