If you're a wine-lover, the ideal of a vino barrel so big you can actually live in it sounds too good to be true. But think again, because that's exactly what one picturesque estate in Portugal is offering.
Quinta Da Pacheca, set among the valleys of the Douro River in Lamego, Portugal, created a set of ten hotel suites in its grounds, which also happen to be giant wine barrels.
The pine wood barrels, designed by property owners Paulo Pereira and Maria do Céu Gonçalves, are replicas of the wine barrels used on the historic estate.

Not only do they look bloody cool from the outside, the inside features a large round bed, walk-in shower, toilet, wardrobe and skylight window. It also comes with air-con and Wifi.
The quirky digs seem perfect for a romantic couples trip don't they? We can see it now: breakfast on the veranda followed by a day of wine tasting on the 140-acre estate, where you can try locally made jams and olive oil, and a tour of the 15 wine-making rooms followed by dinner at the estate restaurant and a cosy night in your barrel.
