There are a lot of pros to being single; freedom, independence, self-love to name some - but we didn't put down a longer life span as one of them.

But that's exactly what one woman is claiming has helped her reach her 107th birthday, and we are here for her reasoning.

"I think the secret of 107: I never got married. I think that's the secret," Louise Jean Signore told CBS when she reaches the impressive milestone on Wednesday. 'My sister says "I wish I never got married."

Unbelievably, Louise, from the Bronx, New York, doesn't take any medication (except a blood pressure pill), doesn't use a wheelchair and does all of her own shopping.

Born in 1912, Louise told CBS "I said I've had enough parties," as more than 100 people turned out for her birthday party.

And old age runs in the family: Louise's sister is 102 herself.

"If they have exercise, I do the exercise. If they have dancing, I dance. I still a do a little dancing. After my lunch, I will play bingo, so I had a full day," Louise said.

But it isn't just single life Louise swears by. "Italian food. Italian food is very good for you," she says. "I was brought up with very good food. No soda, no cake."

But it hasn't all been a walk in the park for Louise. The pensioner is legally blind and recently overcame pneumonia. When she was 103 she was the victim of an attack and robbery. After being knocked to the ground, Louise had $35, two meals, a magnifying glass and some bingo cards stolen from her, according to the New York Post.

Here's to pasta for dinner and no men for life. Happy birthday, Louise!
