In case you've been living under a rock, you'll have noticed that this week has blessed us with some glorious sunshine. Jumping on this spell of good weather, supermarkets across the nation are flogging their summertime wares - and some are even getting in price wars.

Yes, Lidl has just reduced the price of its Inflatable 4-Person Hot Tub Whirlpool from £299 to £249, now making it cheaper than similar offerings from Tesco and Aldi.

Shots fired.

Lidl is selling its hot tub for £249.

The 50 quid price-slash comes just days after Tesco reduced its CleverSpa Amalfi Hot Tub from £385 to £265, knocking the £80 off as part of its centenary celebrations.

At the time, this made it cheaper than Lidl and Aldi's hot tubs, which cost £299 and £349.99 respectively. Now, Tesco's tub cost £16 more than Lidl's.

It remains to be seen if Tesco or Aldi will go even lower after the news of Lidl's price cut.

Keep going if you like, guys, honestly, we don't mind...

Announcing the news of its price-cut, Lidl say: "Often an expensive garden luxury, Lidl's affordable hot tub has been designed with state-of-the-art features to transform any garden into a tranquil oasis or sea of fun."

Lidl's hot tub features 118 dynamic air jets which create 360 degree bubbles, "allowing users to let off steam with a relaxing massage".

The purse-friendly garden addition also comes with PTC heating which allows temperatures of up to 42 degrees, and promised to be super easy to assemble in just six minutes.

Aldi's is priced at £349.99

The 1.8 metre diameter, 0.7m height and 700L capacity tub comes complete with a wired remote control to inflate the whirlpool, control bubbles and manage the temperature.

Lidl's hot tub is available in stores from 19th May, but hold fire. That's four days from now, leaving plenty of time for the other supermarkets to retaliate.

We'll bring you the updates as they come.
